Even this one was closed for a few years, not that long ago. A better choice in my mind would be to go to Grand Blanc to the Trillium Theaters.īack when I was a teenager, there were a lot of drive-ins all over the state. I will certainly not go back again as it is now. I have enjoyed and recommended US 23 Drive-in to friends in the past and hope that US 23 will make changes to bring it back to where it was. Upon leaving we had problems with our lights dimming, seems we ran our battery down listening to the one movie. We did have popcorn which was cold by the time we got it to our car, can't say anything for the other food. We left after the first show very disappointed. there are rules on this but no one from the theater did anything. That was short lived when a van pulled up in front of us and one child crawled up on the roof and others went in and out with the interior light staying on for minutes at a time. The marquee listed two children's movies which looked as though they were on one screen but it turned out they were on two separate screens, and to add to the ambiance there were porta potties lined up by the bathrooms.Įven though we were certainly not impressed by the changes we hoped for the best with the movie. The speakers had been removed and you were required to either use your car radio or rent something. Where once there was a large lot for parking the space was now divided into spaces for three screens rather than the two that had been there on our last visit. The changes in the way the theater was run was evident as soon as we went entered. I remember the US 23 Drive-in Theater with fondness and it was with great anticipation that we went again this last summer after a couple of years absence. If you’re interested in attending any of these theaters, just give the name a quick Google to find out where exactly it is located, the hours, and which movies are currently playing.I am sorry not to write a good review because I love going to the drive-in, sitting under the stars, and I believe that the US 23 Drive-in is the only drive-in theater in our area.
